Tycoonism “Happiness Cannot Be Traveled To, Owned, Earned, Worn or Consumed. Happiness Is the Spiritual Experience of Living Every Minute With Love, Grace and Gratitude. “

April 10, 2009

What makes you happy? Happiness means different things to different people. Some people’s definition of happiness correlates to how many possessions they have or how much money is in their bank account. But, what’s the deeper meaning of happiness? It’s not merely a life lived by accumulating moments of pleasure. On the contrary, Happiness is an enduring enjoyment of life. Nor is Happiness an end in itself. It is a by-product of working, playing, loving and living. Happiness comes only from appreciating what you have right now. You can even be happy by appreciating your troubles because they are helping to build your character.

I know that with what is happening every day, the recession, depression and misery, Happiness seems like a huge feat to accomplish. What I will tell you I am certain comes as no secret at all. Happiness occurs in little ways, too. When everything looks miserable and you can find nothing to appreciate, close yourself off from everything and everyone, and tune out all the outside voices. What do I mean by outside voices? These are the voices of television and radio (newspapers and people) that bring you bad news and reports of misery all day long. Wouldn’t it be nice to listen to good news for a change instead of listening to, reading about and watching the misery of everyday life here and around the world? Learn to tune out the garbage you hear and see on the television. Yes! These things are happening, but sometimes, when you allow these things to control your thinking, you cannot see the positives. When we allow others’ standards to measure our own achievements, most of the time we only notice how much we do not come to par, which makes us feel down and discouraged.

So, what is happiness? Let’s define it as a feeling of contentment, created when all of one’s physical, emotional, psychological, intellectual and spiritual needs have been gratified. Happiness is a manner of traveling, not a destination. You don’t find happiness, you make happiness. You choose happiness. You pave the way to happiness by doing what brings YOU the most meaning and contentment to your life over the long run.

Happiness is also an inner state of well-being. A state of well-being enables you to profit from your highest thoughts, wisdom, intelligence, common sense, emotions, health, and spiritual values in your life. Realize that True Happiness lies Within You. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out to others and share what you have right now!
