Tycoonism “You have to have confidence in your ability, and then be tough enough to follow through.”

April 21, 2009

One of the sad things about some confident people is the inability to follow through. What is imperative in getting yourself to start achieving what you want is the ability to stick it out and follow through, no mater what. When you believe in your ability to be able to push through and follow through, you will succeed no matter what. When you have commitment to anything or anyone for that matter, you must first commit to love yourself regardless of everyone and everything! Nothing should come before your happiness, for if you are not happy with yourself, nothing will work out the way you want it to.
Perhaps the best way to define Commitment is to examine what commitment isn’t. Commitment is not responsibility. We all have responsibilities in our lives. If someone else employs us, we are responsible for doing our job. If we have children, we are responsible for making sure they get their homework done, brush their teeth, eat their vegetables and become good citizens. If we belong to a social, religious, or civic organization, we are responsible to show up for committee meetings and do our part. We are responsible for getting our bills paid, paying our taxes, being good neighbors, etc. That’s not COMMITMENT. When you have believe, you are committed to yourself and to those you love.
Commitment is like falling in love. In the very moment that we devote ourselves, the object of our devotion becomes our number one priority. It becomes as natural to us as breathing. It becomes second nature to us. We wake up without the alarm clock because we just cannot wait to get started. We find it easier to smile and the little things do not get us down. We feel lighter physically; meet the challenges of our lives with less effort; and need less sleep and less food to do more. Commitment forces us to let go of old habits, thoughts, and behaviors that have stopped us from reaching our goals in the past. Commitment will remind you that you are equal to and greater than your situation. This point warrants repeating – YOU ARE EQUAL TO AND GREATER THAN YOUR SITUATION. Your present circumstances do not define you or your future… unless you let them.

Sometimes it will be very difficult to see your way to that next goal or breakthrough. The awesome fact of the matter is…you don’t have to! All you have to do is know without a doubt that you are equal to and greater than your situation. You are actually greater than that dead-end job. You really are greater than that pile of bills on your dining room table. You are truly greater than your fears; greater than this rut you find yourself in; greater than the challenges to reaching your goals! Commit and believe! This is a simple concept, deeply rooted spiritual, emotional, and intellectual devotion to an idea, plan, or system. Commitment must be firmly rooted; the foundation must be strong and unmovable! No excuses are accepted! ! Commitment gives us the confidence to ask for what we want, expect to get what we ask for, and do whatever it takes to get what we want. Doing whatever it takes means change; change in the way we think, the way we behave, our expectations, our choices, all of it! Commitment Saves You Stress, Time, Energy, Money – S-Y-S-T-E M!!
