Tycoonism ” I know fear is an obstacle for some people, but it is an illusion to me. . .Failure always made me try harder next time.”

May 7, 2009

Let us explore the impact of fear in preventing us from achieving our goals. I have included these brief, but critically important findings. Fear is an illusion, which is precisely why we say it’s an acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real! A recent study conducted by the University of Pennsylvania found that 40% of our worries never materialize. This study further revealed that 30% of our worries deal with our past and nothing can be done about them. Another 12% were found to be directed toward other people’s business, and nothing can be done about them either. And another 10% were spent on imagined illnesses! ! Only 8% of worries were found to be justified – they belong to you and can be corrected by you, too!

Let me give you another example of how fear works as a negative force in your life’s success system. It’s almost impossible to believe, but there are some people who are actually afraid to ask for what they really want. And even more afraid to get what they want. There really are people out there who would rather stay in economic crisis because it is all they have ever known. They are so accustomed to living from paycheck to paycheck that the thought of doing something different terrifies them; even if that something different will transform their lives for the better! Do you know anyone like this person I just described? Have you seen them in the mirror lately?

For a lot of people, fear is the number one stumbling block …the “What If’ syndrome. What if I lose my money, what if it doesn’t work? The real question isn’t, “What if I fail?” The real question is, “What if I succeed?” Success and failure is a two-sided coin. How it lands once you have thrown it up depends solely on how you look at it. What you must shift is your focus from the negative to the positive side of the coin. The fact is if you don’t shift your perspective, you have failed from the beginning. You have failed before you have even started…you have talked yourself out of it.

What about the fear of the opinions of others? What will my family say? Who cares what others think? Are they living the kind of life you want to live? There will always be someone who disagrees with your vision, goals, and actions. But at the end of the day, at the end of your life, you have only yourself to face in the mirror; you have only yourself to blame if you have not followed the path you have set before yourself; you have only yourself to blame if you have no implemented a proven system of successful wealth building.

I think the most frustrating stumbling block to success for some people is pure, unadulterated LAZINESS. Spending hours in front of your television and thinking about financial freedom during the luxury car commercials will get you no where. Hanging out at the club with your girls or at sports bar with your boys will not get you where you really want to be. Go to the club after you’ve made that first $100K deal! Hang out at the sports bar after you’ve closed that first million-dollar deal! Now is the time to carry out your plan. Now I am not saying don’t ENJOY life I am saying Invest Your Time Wisely! You only get to Spend that Time Once!
